I went for a visit to the Japanese Garden at the Huntington Library in Pasadena. Lots had changed but one thing was the same: the meticulously groomed bonsai trees, which are the inspiration for this painting.
I always come away from those trips with new creative ideas and an ability to let my mind wander. So Royal Trees is the result of that.
Someone who looks for a reminder to let their mind wander and be present in the moment as you explore the details in the painting. Maybe while you’re listening to some great music and enjoying your favorite drink.
